MCCY's Kaleidoscope: Harmony in Motion

During my internship at Adventurer's Pte. Ltd. Singapore, the team and I were given the opportunity to work closely with the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth to stage a concert as part of The Harmony Circles's Racial and Religious Harmony Month. The concert featured various artistic disciplines, and integrated various traditional art forms, featuring leading groups like Nadi Singapura and Zingo Drums, to tell a cohesive story about racial and religious harmony.

During the planning stages a few months prior, I was responsible for sourcing various available performers for the client's consideration and curation.

After the line-up of performers were finalised, I served as the main point of contact from pre to post production, ensuring that the performer's queries and technical requirements are communicated to the planning and the in-house technical production team. During this process, I was also responsible for sourcing out rehearsal venues suitable for the selected art forms.

During show day, I served as an assistant stage manager, preparing props and equipment, and cueing in performers.

Under the guidance of my various mentors and fellow performers, I learnt a lot about the intricacies of stage management and negotiations within the cultural and creative sector.
